Leadership graduates remember on their visits to the tent cities of the homeless, First Stop, Manna House, and the Department of Human Services, asking, “How do these organizations keep doing this? How do they survive? What will happen to our community if they don’t?”
A small group from Leadership Class 25 was deeply touched by these Human Service organizations and thought it critical that Leadership Alumni be given the opportunity to take more active leadership roles in the management of area and state non-profits. In a time of funding cuts and decreased charitable donations, many organizations are looking for qualified servant-leaders to serve on their boards, commissions and committees and guide them through tough times to position them for the future.
The reputation LHMC Alumni as strong and passionate servant leaders sparks numerous requests from local and state organizations for board candidates. Leader on Board is designed to match area organizations with qualified Leadership Alumni who have the passion and experiences they need for their organization’s board of directors.
To get on board, Leadership Alumni can update their profile in five minutes on leadershiphsv.org. When LHMC receives requests they will find the best matches for the organizations’ needs. With the alumnus’s permission, Leadership staff will connect them to the organization. There is NO REQUIREMENT to be a candidate or serve on any board.
