Background
Connect was started in 2005 in response to our community's desire to better engage young professionals in our area. Although Leadership Huntsville/Madison County offers four other programs, this is the only one crafted strictly for young professionals.
Connect develops a group of young professionals to support current community activities to attract and retain young professionals. Additionally, Connect creates a pool of graduates who desire to serve our community through non-profit boards and commissions and political involvement.
Class Membership
Classes consist of a diverse group of approximately 32 emerging leaders, under the age of 40. Applicants selected to participate show high standards of personal integrity, have demonstrated or expressed interest in community involvement, and have a record of school, career, or personal achievement.
Curriculum
Two classes will be held annually, March - July and August - January. There are two mandatory overnight retreats and one opening orientation. There are three program days centered on: Learn, Engage, and Network.
Application Process
Application does not guarantee selection. The number of applications generally exceeds the number of slots per class. There is tuition of $1800 for this program and scholarships are available on a sliding scale.
The next application deadline is Friday, December 22, 2008 for Connect Class 9, and applications are available by clicking here. You will also want to review the Connect Overview and have two references submitted on your behalf.
