Diversity is the strength of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County.  Each Leadership class consists of individuals from a variety of professional, ethnic, social, political and religious backgrounds.  Diversity ensures a well-balanced class where learning takes place naturally through personal interactions.

All Leadership participants have previously demonstrated a strong interest in serving our community and in improving their personal leadership skills.

Candidates must be genuinely interested in community activities and organizations and able to comfortably express their viewpoints and concerns. Each candidate for selection is closely evaluated for leadership potential and the qualities he or she can contribute to the group.

A committee of Leadership alumni volunteers selects class members, resulting in candidates from different parts of the community. Diversity is essential in establishing a well-balanced class where participants can learn from personal interaction. Applications routinely exceed available slots.
